This thread stopped being serious about 15 pages ago. CCP juts pretty much Buster Douglass'd yall. They took your hardest shots from the Mike-Tyson-forums-dwellers for the first few rounds and now control the fight...

I was actually pretty sure you were trolling.
I have to admit, 7 years of EVE. I've always held such pride for playing a game where there was actual adrenaline rushes, a steep learning curve, and a genuine sense of lasting friendships. I'm starting to feel more ashamed of it. I think I might switch off subscription and do whatever the hell it is I do off plex for awhile, I don't know if my money is being well spent at this stage...
Relax, you'll be fine in the morning. Just a game.

Go Free to Play. Isn't it obvious?

Hans, have you picked up a pitch fork and joined us?
Hope not. E-rage is very unprofessionial.
Spouse: Come to bed. Eve Player: No, I'm mad. I will not let this thread die... Spouse: Please? I'm lonely... Eve Player: Hush, you are interupting my F5 key hammering...

C'mon CCP. We're EVE players. You won't outwit us. If we preferred the games where you run around and bonk rats over the head with a stick, maybe you could pull one over on us. But EVE is a community of clever b@stards, and you need to understand that we are a force to be reckoned with.
If you coloectively quit, where yall gonna go? CCP has two other products coming which engages two different types of player bases. This rage is nonsense.

Originally by: Maeleos Strom I honestly feel that the thing most voilated here is peoples trust. Everyone Trusted CCP and belive they werent keeping any secrets, thats really unfair though, every company has its secrets that they dont want their customers to know. This was unfortunet leak, but it really shows how much people care for this game and how they will band together for the love of this game and fight for what they belive in. CCP ,i do feel bad that it had to happen like this, but it does not excuse the fact that you were so surprised about this outcome and dont have people here for damage control on the spot, not Dev's that are basically just putting words together to bide their time.
Best of luck controlling this storm of very angry gamers.
At the end of the day, it's still a business. Men lie, women lie, bosses lie, customers lie...
The game was slowly dying anyways. Why sit and wait for its inevitiable doom when you could make a move so drastic, it reshapes the way people think. Initially it may or may not take or hit, but you introduce another group of players at the same time...good or bad.
It's still a business...mouths need to be fed :)

There is no rage here. Just a simple statement. If CCP angers the community enough, they will find other games to play.
And then they will seek and find out that there is nothing like Eve. They will then ask themselves, is another person spending rmt to by a ship that bad?
Man, I guess I am the only that sees the good in this. I can't wait for my name to be on the killmail having me destroy a ship some cat paid $200 for...

Except that throughout the lifespan of MMORPGS, the genre has pretty much ****ted on that rule.
Do you honestly trust that any of the current MMO developers have the balls to make a sandbox game like Eve?

Would that be acceptable to CCP?
Doubt Eve's ex-customers are really good at developing MMOs. I think CCP will take that bet....and offer a Titan or two with it.

Most the people I know in Eve are software developers of some kind all over the world.. including myself. I suspect that since Eve is sort of Darwinist, that the smart people that get ****ed off enough will have what it takes to at least get something working. At that point, its only a matter of getting a VC involved - using CCP's posted numbers, thanks CCP! - for the rest.
I am of course, speaking hypothetically. ;)
Yeah, well Lebron James, Chris Bosh, and Dwayne Wade came together for one goal, and fell short :)

I don't know the eve forum engine, but I don't think it says much of anything. They are almost certainly not unique. It's mostly the same ~2k people who have posted who are reading the thread. Do the math. 70-something pages times 2k is actually closer to 140k views . Pretty small fraction of the eve subscriber base really. And not everyone who posts is actuay reading the thread. Big surprise there.
Your white knight sword misses the pitch fork wielding peasants for 0 damage.
That's because pitchforks are composed completely of tears

Maybe you should go read up on the history of CCP. Also if you had any clue who all plays this game, you'd be rather surprised.
Don't sing it, bring it. Show me the plans of the gruntled ones. Btw, how's Perpetuum doing?

The most epic thing to happen now is CCP come on and tell us:
"Too many people are upset. We apoligze. For our punishment, we will close Eve permanantly and not make any more money from it. Sorry!"
